First Meeting of the Year -- Recap

Welcome back to another year of MOPS in Owatonna!  We had such an incredible turnout for our first meeting.  We met the members of the Steering Team and they introduced our theme for the year:  A Fierce Flourishing.  This year, we will focus on three things: Noticing Goodness, Embracing Rest, and Celebrating Lavishly.  Our first meeting was a celebration!

We did a necklace/name tag craft.  We hope that you were able to use the time while working on the craft to start to build meaningful connections with the other ladies at your table.  Your table leaders will do their best to help facilitate good discussion both at our meetings and at other times, too!  You can help them out by sharing suggestions and preferences for play dates, Mom's nights out, etc.

You should have also had your picture taken at some point during the meeting.  We will make an announcement during our October 6th meeting for anyone who still needs to have their picture taken.  We will also ask all of you to fill out an information sheet that day to tell us about yourself and your family.  That information, along with the pictures, will be used for our group directory.  We had some creative ladies that had some fun in the "photo booth"!

Lastly, we are starting a new tradition this year.  Each meeting, we will have the opportunity to vote for the winner of the "Silver Spoon Award".  The award will be presented to the person responsible for the breakfast item voted as the best dish of the morning.  She will have the trophy sitting in front of her during the next meeting and will be responsible for sharing the recipe with us, via this blog.  Our inaugural Silver Spoon Award winner is Heidi Douglas!   *See recipe below!*
