Dear MOPS mommies and kids,
We really love to gather and celebrate the birth of our Lord... However, we are making a tough call and canceling tomorrow's MOPS meeting. We want to be sure that every one is safe, healthy and happy for Christmas.
However, please spread the word amongst your tables. If you could form calling trees with-in your tables, that would help to be sure everyone knows.
I will be praying for each and every one of you and your families. Merry Christmas and Happy 2011!

December 7th Meeting
If you missed this meeting, you really missed out!
We had a guest speaker.
Jill Swanson. http://jillswanson.com/
She showed differences in color choices in your clothes and the impact they can make.
Wearing the color of your eyes will make your eyes stand out to everyone. Wearing the color of your hair will make your hair stand out to people. Which can be good or bad, depending on if you think you're having a good hair day.
There was so many great ideas that she gave us. Check out her website.

Fire Fighters
During the October 5th meeting the children were learning fire safety tips. They had a fireman come in to the room to talk about these safety tips. Then he showed them the parts of a fire truck and how everything works.
While he was doing his demonstration the kids also got to see first hand how he learns about fires because his beeper went off and they all heard there was a fire. So he had to close everything up and head out to put out a dumpster fire.

This was when he was heading out to a real fire!

Blankets and Scarves (10-5 Service Project)
At our 2nd MOPS meeting we made fleece blankets and scarves for the Lily Sparrow House and the Crisis Resource Center.
Thanks to our mom's for helping make a difference in the life of a child who will receive this wonderful gift.
If you've never made one before they are super simple and wonderful to enjoy.
Get 2 pieces of fleece material the same size. Cut out a 4x4 section on the corner to get rid of the excess. Then cut an approximate 4 inch deep 1 inch wide strip all along the sides. Tie them together and you have a wonderful handmade blanket to enjoy.
